If there is one image that comes up for most people when the Rocky Mountains are mentioned, it is typically a high alpine
meadow exploding in a riot of color from wildflowers in full bloom. Different plants come into bloom at different times,
from early summer through fall.  As we focus on the beauty of the plants we often miss their deeper qualities.  Many are quite
nutritious as well as valuable for their medicinal qualities.  As the eye tries to take it all in, we often wonder what we are looking at.
Many visitors have a passion for plants and would love the opportunity to learn more about some of the micro climates in the
Telluride area.  We have created a series of enjoyable and interesting hikes to help you explore the richness of the surrounding
mountains and the valley floor.

Daily rate - $145 for the first 2 people, $13.00 for each additional
person. Give us a call at 970 708 - 3883 to go over the type of hike
that interests you and to schedule a day and the number of people in your group.

Melanie Kent has three different options to suit your abilities, each is 2 – 3 hr in length:

Option 1 -meandering downstream along the valley floor.
Option 2 - Bear Creek - a pleasant hike on a wide trail with approximately 700 feet of vertical gain.
Option 3 - About 4 miles round trip on the Judd Weibe trail - the classic town loop on the sunny side of the valley which offers a whole different array of plants!  It is a slightly demanding trail, approx 3 miles long with 1000 feet of elevation gain.
Longer backcountry hikes are also available and priced according to their length and location; she can customize a guided hike that would be perfect for you.
